Oxfam is a global movement of people who refuse to live with the injustice of poverty. Oxfam is dedicated to saving lives and rebuilding communities when disaster strikes. They help people build better lives for themselves. They speak out on the big issues that keep people poor, like inequality and discrimination against women. Oxfam works in more than 90 countries, and have been supported by people across the island of Ireland for over 60 years. They are an independent, secular and not-for-profit organisation. They have shops across the island of Ireland, with offices in Belfast and Dublin, and more than 2,000 volunteers who are delivering real change to the lives of people affected by poverty. They are looking for a Sales Assistant to join their team.
As a Campaigner, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and very strong spoken English. Having a passion for Oxfam Ireland’s work and knowledge of emergency/developmental aid issues is beneficial though non-essential, as you will be trained up. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing tenacious personality, enjoy interacting with members of the public and working outdoors within a team dynamic. As this role is largely about raising funds to support the work of Oxfam Ireland, you will be target-driven with a passion to succeed. And most importantly, as part of the Oxfam team you will need to be an exceptional ambassador at all times.
