The Pieta House 24/7 Suicide Helpline is a confidential and professional service providing telephone/SMS counselling, support, advice and referral for people who may be feeling suicidal, engaging in self-harm, bereaved through suicide and for concerned friends or family members.
Pieta House is presently recruiting a number of Helpline Counsellors/Psychotherapists to be placed on a panel to provide cover when required.
About this role:
As the 24/7 Suicide Helpline is a 24 hour, 7 day a week service, the successful candidates will need to be flexible and available to work on shifts spread over the 24 hour day, including night shifts and weekends. On average Helpline Counsellors work 3 eight hour shifts per week, on a rotating basis.
Applicants must be fully qualified Counsellors, Psychotherapists or Counselling Psychologists. Although training will be given to successful candidates, training and experience working with those at risk of or affected by suicide is also desirable.
